Leaky Taps

Leaking taps in your kitchen, laundry or bathroom can be costly, annoying, and wasteful. The good news is that leaky taps are relatively easy and quite cost-effective to replace, with a wide range of taps available on the market.

If your tap is dripping or leaking, you will either need to replace the washer, cartridge, or the whole dripping tap. We can change leaking tap washers or cartridges in your existing taps, but cannot guarantee the taps against further problems if we did not supply them originally. In most cases, especially where the original tap is more than a few years old, it is more cost-effective to replace the entire leaky tap, which also allows you to upgrade or modernise the tap at the same time.

There are countless taps on the market, so we will be happy to discuss what you need and make some suggestions for replacement.

How much does it cost to replace a leaky tap?

In general, the cost of replacing a leaky tap is $90-$150, excluding the tap itself and materials.

How much are new taps?

Taps are very much a case of "you get what you pay for", so be a little wary of the very cheapest taps because those are the ones that are likely to need replacing again within a few years. Our preferred brand of taps is Methven, although of course we will supply other reputable brands if you have a preference. A simple kitchen mixer tap from Methven costs around $175-$200.

If you purchase the tap yourself, or provide second-hand fixtures, these are not guaranteed by Turner Tap. We will of course come out to repair items if necessary but you will be charged for the labour and would need to contact the manufacturer directly for any reimbursement that may or may not apply.
